Welcome to our page. We are glad you’re here. Law Lady CT is an Estate Planning firm in Connecticut helping parents worry less by giving life to their legacy. I know it’s difficult to think about, but you’ve already taken the first step just by being here. I am a parent of 3 children ages 15, 10 and 8. I know you would give everything for your children. I would too! You’ve probably been thinking about your family’s future and ended up on this page.
It is so difficult to think about what would happen to your children if they were left without you. In fact, It is unimaginable… BUT, it’s something that needs to happen in order to protect them. Sadly, accidents do happen, and no one is guaranteed to live until their children become adults. I suspect, you already know this and are a little fearful as well.
Facing the worst may be scary, but the real fear lies in not planning for it.
What may surprise you is that even as an Estate Planning Attorney the thought of not being around for my children was difficult for me too. After years of representing children in child protection cases in Connecticut I saw what could happen when a judge or governmental agency decides who would best care for a child (They can get it wrong, just watch the news). After seeing children go from foster home to foster home and being traumatized it became clear that NOT planning is scarier than thinking about my own demise.
But don’t worry. Now that you’re here we will help you through the process. Parenting can be hard and if you’re also a working parent balancing the two is even more difficult. Our team is here to work alongside you, making the process of planning for the unexpected as straightforward as possible.
